SAI BABA TEMPLE HISTORY

    In 1980,just 6 acers land was purchased by the "SAI BABA BHATHA SAMAJAM" of korutla to built a temple,in the begining it was a small temple with small marble statue of lord sai baba. Which stills exists beside the large temple. As the victims of piligrims was increasing. committee planed to built a large temple .And many donors come forward with large temple of funds especially NRI'S of korutla also took greater part in this noble cause, then neighborhood land was also purchased for temple. and present temple was built, the present statue was also presented by a devotee. which is just one inch lesser than the statue of shiridi.

                                                                            

Temple committee has been celebrating the punyathithi of Lord sai baba grandly, on next day to DASARA  festival, which has been a tradition of temple, from the begining which is considered to be a special festival of korutla and around villages.

ఇంతకుముందు ఈ వూరి పేరు "కొరవట్టు" లేదా "కొరవట్లు" అనీ, నిజా పాలన కాలంలో "కోరుట్ల"గా రూపాంతరం చెందిందనీ అంటారు. కోరుట్ల కోనేరులో క్రీ.శ.1042-1068 కాలంనాటి శిలాశాసనం లభించింది.
దీని ప్రకారం కోరుట్లకు వేయి సంవత్సరాల పైబడి చరిత్ర ఉన్నదని తెలుస్తుంది. జైనులు, కళ్యాణి చాళుక్యులు , వేములవాడ చాళుక్యులు , రాష్ట్రకూటులు ఈ ప్రాంతాన్ని వివిధ దశలలో పాలించారు. 

                                                          

ఈ పట్టణం కోట చారిత్రికంగా ఆరు బురుజుల మధ్య నిర్మించబడిందని అంటారు. వాటిలో ఐదు బురుజులు ఇప్పటికీ ఉన్నాయి. ఈ బురుజులను కలిపే పెద్ద గోడ ఉండేది. ఆ గోడపై ఒక కారు వెళ్ళవచ్చును. గోడ వెలుపల మరింత రక్షణ కోసం ఒక కందకం ఉండేది. ఆప్రాంతం ఇప్పటికీ "కాల్వగడ్డ" అని పిలువబడుతుంది. కోట మధ్య ఆవరణలో రాతి గట్టులతో త్రవ్వబడిన ఒక కోనేరు ఉంది. అక్కడి వెంకటేశ్వరస్వామి, వేణుగోపాలస్వామి మందిరాలు ఇప్పటికీ ఉన్నాయి. చూడ దగినవ
TEMPLES of KORATLA: ి కోరుట్లలో సాయిబాబా మందిరం, అయ్యప్ప గుడి, నాగేశ్వరస్వామి గుడి, రామాలయం, వెంకటేశ్వరస్వామి గుడి , అష్టలక్ష్మి దేవాలయం వంటి పలు మందిరాలు ఉన్నాయి. దేవీ నవరాత్రులు, దీపావళి, శ్రీరామనవమి , సంక్రాంతి వంటి పండుగలు ఘనంగా విర్వహిస్తారు.
